This new Lan-Cay model weighs 15% less then the standard M11. The lighter weight is achieved by using a special high grade stainless steel alloy with aluminum interior components. Six holes in the blade lighten weight as well, yet do not compromise the integrity of the blade. Performance and balance are exceptional with this new model. While the M11 A1 Knife System was designed for bomb disposal technicians, it has application across many disciplines. It is a multi-function tool that offers unequaled versatility. The blade can cut wood, aluminum or ½ inch rebar. The scabbard contains a cutter plate which can serve as a screwdriver or when used with the knife blade can cut barbed wire or chain link fencing. The M11 also features a symmetrical cross-guard and hammer pommel. The M11 A1 can service not only the military and law enforcement fields, but those who work in various construction and maritime trades, search and rescue, land clearing and landscaping, logging and farming occupations.
